We’re Brainwashed (Yup, Democrats, Too) by Emily Katz: "Think about it. How often do you meet somebody who holds an opposing viewpoint but is nonetheless genuinely open to engaging the ideas and considering what you have to say? Forbes.com: Update 4: Markets Push Dollar to New Low Against Euro: "The euro likely will reach $1.35 next year and $1.40 in 2006 on a "loss of confidence in the United States" fueled by the view that the country's large deficits are "unsustainable," he said."

Simple Analysis by Charley Reese: "It is useful to knock down some of the canards that always arise in the post-election bull sessions. One is that the "Christian Right," whatever that is, elected Bush. Nonsense. Christians and non-Christians voted for both men. Of course there's no correlation between religious zealotry and voting tendences. After all, you only need one counterexample to prove the idea wrong, right?

I love reading this stuff. Justifying the war on terror's expanse to Iraq with little more than "these guys weren't averse to talking to each other". That the war is a success because it proves the strength of the U.S. Military. That Saddam must be bad, because Clinton said so — Glad to see that that's the best they've got. Sometimes I wondered "maybe they're right, maybe I'm just in a little hole and the right's really got the nail on the head." If this meaningless garbage is all they've got, I feel a little better sleeping at night...

ActNow!: "A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. But If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake." --Thomas Jefferson, June 4, 1798, in a letter to John Taylor after passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts."
